
This will be my fancy 18th century set, to wear for dances and whenever the mood takes me for something fabulous and pink! This will be a dress and petticoat made of pink and gold shot silk taffeta, entirely hand sewn (period correct!) with silk thread. Not sure yet what I will line with, or what else will go in to it come time for trimmings, as I haven't settled on an exact trimmings scheme just yet! |

Total serendipity delivered this amazing fabric to me several years ago, and I've been hanging on to it waiting for inspiration to find me. I always knew it would be 18th century, but couldn't quite work out the exact details. Now I've settled on a basic shape for the dress, and I figure the trimmings I'll decide for sure on once I reach that point! For now, I give you the petticoat-in-progress, with the panels seamed and hem sewn. Pictures below show without and with flash. . . |
