I picked up this Hollywood pattern from the late 1930s/early 1940s because I really liked the style of the dress, and because it is inspired by Betty Grable. I decided that I would go with a "black & white film star" theme in choosing the fabrics for my dress, and so I decided to use only black/white/gray. This floral cotton perfectly fit the bill, and at some point, I'll revisit the project and add the girdle/belt piece (in white), as well as a fabulous hat like the one shown on the pattern cover! 2/21/09 Starting a new vintage dress. . . 3/21/09 Almost done!
