A Trio of 18c Pads
Pattern: Wingeo #216
Status: Complete

Drafting my own pattern for a bustle pad resulted in one that looks very similar to the "Bum Roll" from this pattern, but I decided to make up this trio of 18c skirt supports anyhow. . .

Bum Roll - Side View I started with the bum roll, since I suspected that would be the one that would best suit my needs (and it did turn out to be). Here it is, from all angles. . .

Next I made the hip pads, which I thought were going to look very stupid, and they do! ;P I doubt I'll use these - they serve the same purpose as the pocket hoops, except that they dangle and shift around, which is not really good. And, when it comes to extending the sides for the 18th century, I say the bigger the better! ;)

Finally I made the third view, the "rump." This one turned out quite well and I imagine it as absolutely perfect for the very end of the 18th century. It inspires me to add new projects to my "to do" list. . . Rump - Side View
